HIV/AIDS is managed scheme-wide through the Scheme's HIV infection management programme (Aid for AIDS / AfA) adopted under Main Rule 4.43; the programme applies to all beneficiaries on every option, and members registered on AfA have access to the HIV medicine benefit. HIV/AIDS is a Prescribed Minimum Benefit, so cover is compulsory on this option.
